Caspian News – Iran Announces New Wave of Attacks on US Bases
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy has announced a new wave of missile and drone strikes targeting US bases in several regional countries.
The IRGC said in a statement published on March 15 that dawn attacks had struck four US “terrorist” air bases: Al‑Dhafra in the UAE, al‑Adiri and Ali al‑Salem in Kuwait, and Isa in Bahrain, Tasnim News Agency reported.
The navy’s missile and drone units targeted “command and control centers, flight control observation towers, air defense shelters, support shelters and equipment depots” using a mix of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles “with new warheads”, and “destructive drones”.
The report added that Iranian forces had destroyed more than “80% of the strategic radars, key and vital points of the American terrorist bases” over recent days.
Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naini, spokesperson for the IRGC, dismissed US claims regarding the neutralization of Iran’s naval forces, saying that Iran has deployed 800 missiles and 3,600 drones against U.S. and Israeli targets over the course of the current hostilities.
He further asserted that the Strait of Hormuz is now “completely under the management” of his nation’s military.
Regarding the technological scope of Iran’s arsenal, Naini noted that their current operations rely on older hardware.
“The missiles currently in use are from a decade ago, and many of the missiles we have produced from the 12‑day war [in June 2025] to the Ramadan War have not yet been used,” he added.
The Iranian general also warned about upcoming operations, stating that “this Wednesday [March 18] will be an enemy‑burning Wednesday. The end of the war is when the enemy believes in our military and social deterrence. We seek to punish the aggressor and continue our heavy and destructive attacks on the enemy.”
In the meantime, a spokesman for Iran’s top joint military command, the Khatam ol-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, said that Iran would “consider logistics and service centres for the USS Gerald R Ford [in the Red Sea] as targets for its armed forces”.
He made the remarks as Iran’s war with the US and Israel entered its 16th day on March 15. The Khatam ol-Anbiya Central Headquarters is a central command coordinating operations between Iran’s regular army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
Earlier, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian reiterated Tehran’s policy that US military bases in the region could become targets if they are used to launch attacks against Iran, during a phone call with Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, on March 11.
Pezeshkian stressed that Iran attaches “special respect and importance to all neighboring and regional countries” and that cooperation with them remained a top priority of Iranian foreign policy. However, he noted that “any attack launched against Iran from US military bases on the soil of regional countries will in no way be acceptable”.
The Iranian Health Ministry said on March 15 that 202 children and 223 women, including three pregnant women, had been killed in Iran since the start of the war. The ministry also said three healthcare workers had been killed and 153 medical centers damaged in strikes.
According to the latest figures from the US‑based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the total number of deaths in Iran since the start of the hostilities stands at 3,065. HRANA added that 1,330 civilians, including at least 206 children, had been killed, along with 1,122 military personnel, while 613 fatalities were unclassified.
