Haaretz – Israeli attacks on Iran killed 627 people and wounded 4,870 others, an Iranian Health Ministry spokesman said on Wednesday, as a cease-fire between the two countries officially came into effect Tuesday night local time.
Most of the deaths occurred in Tehran, spokesman Hossein Kermanpour wrote on X. When asked about the validity of the numbers, he clarified that they reflect only statistics of hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health.
The U.S.-based human rights network HRANA said that Israeli attacks have killed at least 1,054 people and wounded 4,476 others over 12 days, citing information provided by informants and publicly available sources.
An earlier report by the group, published six days after the war began, said 639 Iranians had been killed. It included a breakdown of the fatalities: 263 were civilians, 154 were members of Iran’s security forces, and the rest could not be identified.
