Eurasia Review – Six Iranians Arrested In Yazd For Alleged Use Of Starlink Satellite Internet
The U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reports that Iranian media have announced the arrest of six people in the central province of Yazd for allegedly using prohibited Starlink equipment and transmitting information to foreign outlets.
According to Yazd Law Enforcement Commander Ahmad Negahban, as cited by Mehr News Agency, the individuals were detained after authorities discovered and seized six Starlink devices during raids.
Negahban stated that the suspects were also accused of providing internet services to others and sharing news with overseas media organizations.
In addition, authorities have frozen a total of 61 bank accounts linked to the group.
The reports have not disclosed the identities of those arrested or the location where they are being held.
